ISO does not itself carry out certification. At present, certification schemes are in operation in a number of countries, in which management systems or products are assessed for conformance to ISO standards by third parties (certification bodies), who deliver certificates to the companies concerned. It should also be noted that ISO does not have the authority to control the certification bodies and, consequently, the ISO Central Secretariat is neither monitoring nor endorsing these certification activities.
Since the ISO Central Secretariat is not directly involved in the certification activities, we do not have sufficient experience to advise people on the time and costs and time associated with their certification.
Therefore, we would suggest that you address your query to a certification bodies. Under the Certification information page, the section on Choosing a certification body, in particular, will explain how to find a certification body.
